As for our final destination this year together with Sansusi well-being residency we have visited Aknistes Social Healthcare Centre and meet its lodgers. Once again we had a chance to experience the accessibility and inclusivity of the method, as well as possibility to challenge participants of any kind because of the amazing variety it proposes.
As the centre is included in the well-being residencies program run by Sansusi, we discussed and idea of delivering Functional Juggling on a more regular basis through the artists in residency and sketched some plans for the next year.
Once again we were visiting National Rehabilitation Centre “Vaivari”, where this time for a week we were sharing the joy of juggling with patients currently undergoing the rehabilitation process. Beginning from the basic patterns to more challenging and creative movements. Again we were looking forward specific goals and needs of our participants in order to make our practice helpful for the rehabilitation process of the participants.
Our second laboratory was held in the amazing school-development centre located in Pelči, Kuldīga district. This week was devoted to introduce Functional Juggling to the schoolars and teachers of the centre, explore additional adaptiations needed physically and pedagogically, discuss possibilities of a long-term collaboration. We are looking forward how the method will be implemented further in the centre and how it will expand thank to the wonderful minds, imagination and energy of our participants.
A small look to the event devoted to the Spinal Cord Injury Patients Day which was held on September 3rd for the patients of National Rehabilitation Centre “Vaivari”. Many patients and functional specialists got a chance to experience challenges and joy delivered through Functional Juggling.
We’re planning to spend a week of activities in “Vaivari” in the nearest future in order to provide more consequential and deeper work with participants.
